Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data GoldenCodes (“we”, “us”) collects through golden-codes.com and the GoldenCodes products, why, and what rights you have. We keep it short and specific.

1. Data we collect

  • Account and order data — name, email address, billing details and order history, when you create an account or buy a product.
  • License data — your license keys, which products they cover, and the sites you activate them on.
  • Site connection data — when a site with a GoldenCodes product checks its license or looks for updates, we receive the site address, a random site identifier, the products and versions installed, and the license key. We also record the IP address of these requests.
  • Support messages — what you send us when you contact support.
  • Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) and the cookies described below.

2. Why we use it

  • To deliver products and issue, activate, renew and revoke licenses (performance of our contract with you).
  • To process payments, send order and license emails, and provide support (contract and legitimate interest).
  • To keep the license system secure — for example to detect a key being used on many unrelated sites or from many addresses (legitimate interest).
  • To meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting records.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Cookies and similar storage

  • Essential cookies — keep you signed in, remember your cart and complete checkout (WordPress and WooCommerce). They do not need consent.
  • Preferences — your light/dark color choice is stored in your browser.
  • We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Who we share data with

Only with providers that help us run the service, under appropriate agreements:

  • payment providers, who process your payment;
  • email delivery services, to send order and license emails;
  • hosting and infrastructure providers, who run our servers;
  • authorities, when the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Our servers and providers may be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep data

  • Account, order and license records — for as long as your account or licenses exist, and as long as tax and accounting law requires for orders.
  • License activity logs — 18 months by default, then deleted automatically.
  • Support messages — as long as needed to help you and handle follow-ups.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Deleting your account does not delete license records we must keep; those are kept without unnecessary personal data.

8. Security

We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

9. Children

Our products and Site are not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change; the date above shows the latest version.
